New Spartacus poster for Comic-Con
#18
Unfortunately, we missed more than we saw, and yet we did see a lot.

Missed Game Of Thrones, but did spend time at the Sideshow Collectibles booth that had several displays including an extensive LOTR / Hobbit set up that featured a trio of nearly life size trolls, and an assortment of 12" Star Wars figures that had my grandson in awe and me wondering how to come up with a budget the size of the Pentagon's in order to afford all of the new Clone Commanders they will release this year and next.

Did score a good deal on a couple of books. Both DK and Del Rey were selling their Star Wars books at 50% off. Even ran into the author, Jason Fry, who gladly inscribed them for my grandson who was suitably impressed.

Several new video games were available to "test drive" including Halo 4, LEGO Lord Of The Rings, a new Clone Wars MMO, and another based on the series Walking Dead. And of course there were lots of new Action Figures in the Hasbro booth.

The LEGO booth had an artist working on a huge mural as well as several 'life size' LEGO sculptures of various movie characters, while the Ironman booth had a display of the various suits of armor that guests could pose with for photos.

Lots of zombies (comics, shirts, future film projects). Seems they never go out of style and will likely take pride of place once Abraham Lincoln kills off all of the vampires that have been plaguing Hollywood these past few years.

Saw but one true star, Gary Lockwood, who played astronaut Frank Poole in the film 2001. We had a extended conversation about the genius of Kubrick. iPads in 1968 -- who would have guessed ...

We did a lot in four hours but it wasn't nearly enough time. Even so, as the photos attest, it was a day well spent.
