Agree with you there, Paul.
I was not concerned about comfort with my design. I have been an avid motorcyclist for over 20 years (I currently own three), and I have been wearing padded leather for riding the entire time.
A leather jacket in Georgia or Alabama in the Summer (temperature is over 90 degrees F, or ~30 degrees C) is hot, but as I am fond of saying -- you'll be comfortable all the way to the ground.
So, I went for pigskin -- which breathes better than cowhide. And, it gives me the protection I think I would want if I were a no-kidding legionary.
