Ok, then, Copper Alloy it shall be.

Would 28" to 30" be too big?

U already have a vexillarius Robert?
Hi Ivan,
No, we don't. We're waiting for the draco to be finished. With only two members, another pole to carry around would be a bit much.. But in future we'll certainly look into it. Why? Do you know someone who can make us one?
A vexillum? Sure, the ppl that made ours, like it?

Absolutely, but I would like to have the unit name included, etc.

Looking good, Martin! And Peroni, yours looks great as well!

I was quite interested in this topic, as I plan to put together a signifer impression someday. Is there evidence that the parma's decoration matched those of the scuta, or was there more room for personal taste?

Did the parma the velites used have a iron boss or a bronze or a brass? Or nothing at all?

More likely a wooden boss and spina for that period(?) :?

"More likely a wooden boss and spina for that period(?) "
....Have to concur with that - almost certainly this type. Though we have no illustrations of velites from this time, near-contemporary cavalry parma are shown with spina and wooden boss. e.g. various coins

Didn't velites continue right up into later Augustan times? Wouldn't the boss have changed from the earlier wooden (Gaulish) style to the simpler Roman style along with scuta, etc?

I don't have any references, I'm just asking the question. In later periods, the velite was called skirmisher or javelineer, or light infantry, but the function was still there, right?
