what is the average diameter of the small round shields? i believe they are called parmas?
I based mine on the leather tegimen fragments from Castleford. It measures approximately 600mm (24") (click on the photo to enlarge)

Awesome parma Peroni!!!!
ya that thing is soooooooooo sweet looking. i dont wanna show mine when it gets done hehe i'm no artest.

so for the parma, should it be the same shield design as the rest of the legion? or somewhat different? i'm in the WV XIIII GMV
Peronis has painted an equally beautiful parma for the legionaries as well. His creative talents increasingly seem boundless. Well done Peronis - frater et comiles (et cives).

Gratias commilitones!

You can see that our parma is not the same design as the clipaeus we carry, but sort of compliments them by having the same backgound colour.

Our new legionary parma has vignettes of a priest of jupiter (our signifer is also our priest!) Jupiter himself in full flight wielding a lightning bolt, the capricorn of the Legio XIIII GMV and the ansata denoting the legion.

I'll post some photo's of the Legionary parma tomorrow.
