First century shoe from Cologne
#1
as I promised Martin, here are some pics of the shoes I made for a friend after a first century find from Cologne (Domhof), Germany

unfortunately I could not take a picture with Manuelas feet inside the shoes, so you don`t really see that they fit her feet :?

Hi Chris,

thanks for the pics! Nicely done indeed. The tabs still need to be shortened I'd say, though.

The reference for that one would be

Schleiermacher, M.; Laurenze, C.: Römische Leder- und Textilfunde aus Köln, in Archäologisches Korrespondenzblatt 12, 1982, pp. 205-216.

if I'm not mistaken?

thanks for the reference, Martin!
I just could not find my copy of the article to quote it correctly

yes, absolutely!
and they are still missing the little straps at the back you can see in the drawing...
I think they could have ended in little heart-shaped pendants?
