do you know this article:
Werner, J. (1988). Frühmittelalterliche Spangenhelme von Baldenheimer Typus, Germania, Berlin, 66/2, str. 521-528.
Werner lists all up to date found spangenhelmets, including one from north africa. If I recall correctly, all founds were pictured. As Werner argues for a common origin of nearly all Spangenhelmets of the 6th century from east or west Roman (or Ostrogothic) workshops, the North African example looks alike. And if Werner is correct, this example must have come to Africa as a gift or captured as booty.
