Hello,
Have any groups attempted a testudo using oval scuta and the following the description of the formation employed by Antony's army against the Parthians in 36 BC?
"The shield-bearers wheeled about... and dropped on one knee and held their shields out before them. The second rank held their shields out over the heads of the first, and the next rank likewise." Plutarch, Antony 45.2.
Cheers,
Ross
