Beautiful sword, the pattern welding on the blade is fantastic, the grip is also lovely.

I can't recall the dates for the ones at Arbea, assuming you are refering to the one on the above sword?
I got the impression some were of second century dae.? Don't ask me where I got that idea though. :?

I have gone for the plain one - the thorsberg spatha with the triple/quad fullers.. it was the cheapest, but I have also handled one of these in the past and it is incredibly light in weight... and beautiful to swing from the back of a horse!

This one
[url:2vhoo0zh]http://www.templ.net/pics-weapons/102-sword/a02v.jpg[/url]
Catalogue number 102.
The one pictured on the website is my old one, which may be the one that Claire has handled as I flogged it to a donkey walloper (who also happens to own 2000AD).
800 Euros now? Blimey, it was only 400 when I bought mine.

Yeah, Yours is the one I handled - it was in perfect condition.. and I should have ordered it before the price went up.. it happended only very recently, in the last 6 mths. I have been trying to get the guy you sold it to, to sell it to me as he doesn't do any Roman stuff any more, he's concentrating on medieval - so its just sitting in a cupboard somewhere at present...
Grrr!
