Video : Persian Parade - Theodosius the Great - 07-01-2007 Salvete, If you click here you'll see a really cool display of the Shah's soldiers marching in ancient Persian garb. But you have to drag the needle until it says 21:50 since the video runs 45 minutes long. Had the Shah not been overthrown maybe there would be an interest in reenactment today in Iran. ~Theo Re: Video : Persian Parade - hoplite14gr - 07-01-2007 My connection is slow but if this is the full version you might see even the Sassanid catafract camels!!! Kind regards Re: Video : Persian Parade - Theodosius the Great - 07-02-2007 Wow, I was wondering if they went that far ahead. Only about a minute or two of footage is shown I was surprised I couldn't find the actual tape of the whole thing on YouTube, only an excerpt that's embedded in this TV documentary. Well, here are some stills I took : ~Theo Re: Video : Persian Parade - Theodosius the Great - 07-02-2007 And here : ~Theo Re: Video : Persian Parade - DanM - 07-13-2007 I think they showed part of that on the history channel. This brings back memories from school, how they taught us to hate the achemenids, during the greek simulation. |
