Re: Help me identify these 3 bayonets? - Magnus - 02-28-2007 Thank you so much guys! I feel better knowing what's in my collection! Re: Help me identify these 3 bayonets? - MARCvSVIBIvSMAvRINvS - 03-02-2007 Matt, the big bayonet is called a sword bayonet and most were made in Belgium for the Chasse Pot Rifle. the last one is indeed a WWI bayonet for the Mauser. The first one seems to me a pretty standard Musket/percussion rifle bayonet, varying from Springfields to Brown Bess' M.VIB.M. Re: Help me identify these 3 bayonets? - Gaius Julius Caesar - 03-02-2007 I have a couple of what I believe to be French bayonets. One has a name and date on it, the other a date. Look similar to the larger of your bayonets matt, but slight differences. Brass handles though. Re: Help me identify these 3 bayonets? - MARCvSVIBIvSMAvRINvS - 03-03-2007 You have a couple of Belgian Bayonets!! copper handle and texts are highly likely of a Belfian forge. M.VIB.M. |
