I used charcoal on halftone paper.
Scythian King -My accuracy on this drawing is off.

I agree that the hands are a bit small.
As for the highlights, I use a white charcoal pencil.

as we are with Augustus now ;-) ) ... colored this statue of him a while ago ... tried to figure out the colors and materials by "studying" Connollys "Roman Army" ... hope there are no major mistakes

@Albert: your drawing of Augustus is pretty awesome ...
