@Komet: excellent work there. Makes me feel homesick!

@Mythos: I won't comment on the gear as that's really not something I know much about. I suppose it could be a style choice, but as it is the models' faces appear to protrude a little or maybe it's the helmets fitting too tightly.
Thanks!

Mak, I'm using Global Illumination with a high degree of accuracy as well Final Gather, also with production-level accuracy of the photons. I'm also using a max trace depth of 6 diffuse bounces. So light is reflecting off as many as 6 surfaces. This is a median figure for architectural renderings. I get a lot of information about the inner workings of mentalray and recommendations for architectural render settings from http://toi.bk.tudelft.nl/toi-pedia/index.php?title=Maya . Although it's specifically written for Maya and mentalray, the theory of architectural rendering applies to any software suite.
Very interesting Ethan. Thanks for the information!

Very nice Ethan. Thanks for posting your pics.
PS: shouldn't this be in the Roman Military and archaeology forum instead of gaming?

Amazing work Ethan!

A sectional illustration of sorts depicting a turret set along Hadrian's Wall. Also made a neat mouse rollover effect for the image on my site. Thanks for having a look.

Quote:Scythian King -My accuracy on this drawing is off.

Ill know you wrote "the accuracy is off" but I wander how of?
In other words I do like it...
Especialy the idea of the figures around the hat/helmet, so don't tell me that was the "off" part, because I might wanna use that for making a Scythian headdress one day...

The drawing is a composite of Scythian armor. Most of the references I got from Osprey books.
