May I ask if anyone could enlighten me on the archaeological evidence for the FIRST appearance of this type or weapon, please? If so, was it cavalry or infantry context?

EDIT: Perhaps spatha "type" should be the better term as the only one I can recall is the one which looks more like an elongated gladius and was 3rd C. Google tells me it is the Lauriacum-Hromowka but is this the first evidence?
There are fullered Spatha blades going back to Republican Era I think. Let me check, if I recall they were usually Double or triple fullered.
