Hello from Bartlett, TN, USA
Hello All,

I have recently discovered this board and joined.
Thank you for allowing me onto it.
My bride of 27 years and I currently reside in Bartlett, TN.
I'm a 50+ year old father, with sons and daughters involved in scouting.
I've done WWI Prussian IR63 living history, and miss it.
My 37+ year dormant interest in Roman history is returning to the surface...
Along with Latin class nightmares... Smile
ahh funtimes when we made fullscale siege equipment as school projects

Thank you again for letting me into RAT,
tn hillbilly
Thank You,
David Ward
Welcome aboard, ya'll. There are active Roman reenactors in your general area, some in MD, some in TN, some in SC, some in AL, some in NC. You might find some folks nearby that are thinking like you think.

Have fun here, and be sure to check in often.

Welcome fellow redneck Tongue ! (Just kidding ofc)

I live in SC, and am in the 6th Legion. I think there is a Legion in Tennesee, but I can't remember which. But there's also Legio XI in Georgia and Legio IX in Virginia.
This is Legion V Alaudae out of Tennessee, not sure if they're still active?

Also check out Leg XX out of MD/VA
They have a list of other groups around the country and the world.
(as well as a great place to learn how to make gear; Leg V and XI also have 'how to' sections)

Leg XIIII West Virginia
Leg XI out of GA

If you can make it, there is Roman Days hosted by Leg XX in Riverdale Maryland, May 10-12.

Thank all y'all for the warm welcom and information! Warms the heart of this redneck hilbilly!!!
Now I'm dreaming, schemeing of building Roman items without the bride finding out.
Now, anyone have pointers on how to hide full size catapults in the standard city sized back yard.... Smile
Yes I know it is a bad joke, especially at Easter. Forgive me.

Could I just ask you put your first name in your signature? It's customary for all members.
I'm happy to Evan, my name is David.
Thank you for letting me know.
I did not mean to break decorum.
There is so much to learn here it is overwhelming.

Thank You,

So did you find a friendly group nearby?

Not yet.
Just me, myself, and I, along with Edith Hamilton, the classics, and those wonderful pesky Astrix and Obliex comics...
Thank You,
David Ward
David, if you go to the "Profile" tab near the top of the page, and then click the edit button on the red bar, you can add your name into your signature, saving you from having to type it in all your posts
Cool tip!!! Thank you Flavius, I still haven't come up with a persona/name/etc...
Thank You,
David Ward
