Xanten gates-need info with more detail
#1
In brief
3 gates of colonia ulpia traiana are very similar should I say similar, similar to porta decumana of SIngidunum camp.
My only sources for Xanten gates are Bechert 1971, and Prechts article on congress of roman urban defences 1980.
Burginatium gate is definatelly identical to PD of Singidunum, both dimensions, specific foundation, divided in 3 entrances etc.
What I dont know is what happend to dating of Xanten gates after Prechts article, and any new info regarding this topic would be appreciated. THanks.

Is it possible that there are no colleagues from Xanten?

Yes Stefan, I'm afraid that's possible. You could try a German forum perhaps?
