Britain\'s Lost Megafortress

Quote:There was an article in the Times (maybe the Independent) about the remains of a possible Roman fort in Ireland. I remember it was poo pooed at the time as a misunderstanding of iron age or dark age remains.
Sunday Times, apparently. The whole sorry business was revealed in Archaeology Ireland, vol. 10.1 (Spring, 1996) ... allegedly.

Well the water supply was installed by Agricola, so it depends how long you think a Roman legion can go without water.

Byron,

Are you coming to the Chester event? I can probably pass you a recording (assuming you've got access to a DVD on your outpost). Smile

What a very good documentary that was. Absolutely fascinating with some excellent theories with well backed up arguments as well I thought.

I'll have to watch it again though, I spent most of my time people spotting and missed a few bits.
