How tall should the hand portion of a Signum be?
Guessing it should be larger than my hand just so it better seen at the top of the pole when carried.

Anyone have a ballpark height measurement for the hand?
While we are at it, the diameter of the disks would be handy as well

Well, the simple answer is "We don't know!" There are only 2 or 3 discs that have been found that *might* be from signa, but there's no way to be certain. So all we can do is guestimate from artwork.

The discs on the Legio XX signum are about 6-1/2" in diameter, and the hand is a little smaller than my own hand (I photocopied my hand and shrank it a little.) I JUST updated the Legio XX page on the subject, but still need to add a detail photo or two, particularly of the fittings on the backs of the various parts.
