UK TV History
#1
For anyone who has access to this channel, a real treat.
It's currently Roman season on UKTV History from around 6.30pm with various documentaries involving all things Roman, plus two hour specials of HBO's Rome on Fridays. It continues next week.

P.S. Later on it shows various documentaries about WWII, including 'Churchill's bodyguard' which is also excellent 8)

And on Wednesday on BBC 2 at 10.30 am "Living History" featuring Legio XIIII GMV and Cohors I Batavorum at the Lunt.

Any idea why the BBC delayed Rome 2 for that long? Over here it's been two months or so since the final episode..

Probably re-cutting and reducing it by an episode, like they stupidly did last time

Did they? Where's the point in that? HBO aired it as it was, you'd think that'd be fine :?

The BBC edited it so much that they managed to squeeze the first two episodes into one. Try and get the HBO version.

Living History today on BBC2 was very good- the highlight for me being a wounded Suavis in his new squamata debating with our medicus whether his wounded arm needed to come off....

Lots of stock footage from bigger epics and the "training to be a Legionary" film on (?) the Brecon Beacons taken a while ago.

Lots of good archaeology as well- including RAT's very own Kate Gilliver. Recommended if you get a chance to see it.

Cheers

Hope there's lots of time on the tape- runs to an hour...And you feature prominently in full squamata!
