Comemoration of the Battle of Diros

On 17th of June the "AGEMA" will take part along with the "MANIATES cultural clubs" in the comeration of the Battle of Diros (Verga) where the women and childern of Mani repulsed the Egyptian Army of Ibrahim pasha in 1826.
We will be honor guard at the wraith presentation in the Monument of the Unknown Soldier.
Dependin on the space alocated we might demonstrate hoplite drill.
So if you pass from Athens have your cameras ready.

At 17 of june we payed homage to the monument of the Unknown soldier
in Athens with 1821 Greek Revolution Reenactors. It was great though it
had 40 degrees and we almost fell down from the heat.We were only 13
but it was really great and we got lots of publicity from tourists and
people attending.We had a girl with us as well , the one with the
gorgoneion on the shield you will see soon.There was a big band
,politicians ,Maniates men & women reenactors and a military honour
guard.
