Ancient Rome Is Rebuilt Digitally
#1
Salve,

Okay, now this is what I call recreation!

Quote:Computer experts on Monday unveiled a digital reproduction of ancient Rome as it appeared at the peak of its power in A.D. 320 - what they called the largest and most complete simulation of a historic city ever created.

The $2 million simulation will be used by scientists to run experiments - such as determining the crowd capacity of ancient buildings - and as a scholarly journal that will be updated at each new discovery of one of Rome's marvels.

I particularly like that they'll eventualy recreate Rome from the beginning and be able to change through time.

No colors at all? A so big effort ought go more deeply about the colors, especially in 320...

Cool… I wonder if we can watch Annaeus leaving Troy, see the first bricks laid, and then fast forward to watch Romulus and Remus nursing from Lupa at the water’s edge!
