For those who are of later period inclinations, perhaps you might give a look in here:

While the SCA does allow a lot of "creative" Anachronism. One portion that they are quite accurate with is name registration. While you may meet someone in the SCA named Boromir of Gondor, I assure you these people have not registered those names.
