Yes, that week end I will be at Vindolanda. Chester is only a few miles away from where I live so I would have gone. From your avatar I recognize you from Prestatyn Roman bath house open day last year! I remember visiting there on one of my very first turn outs as a member of the Ermine Street Guard when the site was excavated in 1984-85 and had not been back there since!

Graham; Guilty as charged, I saw you talking to the organisers but I was rather mobbed by public asking questions, so I never got to say hello. Sad

Prestatyn what a little hidden treasure. Small but perfectly formed Smile

Don't forget to have a look at some of our other events, We've got plenty going on in Chester this year. Maybe we'll bump into each other at one of the others.

I must complement you on your choice of avatar, by the way. 8)

Equally guilty, I usually never know what to say on such occasions, after all I can not even ask the usual questions, is the armour heavy, I bet your hot wearing that, I bet your cold wearing that! I did want to ask what were the sources for your guys gloves (mittens) and cloak linings. Mittens I now have by the way.

Nice to see it well looked after. When I was last there, there was no housing estate it was still pretty much surrounded by fields.

You may be interested to know that some of my limited edition prints are on sale now at Ancient World, 47 Bridge Street Row, Chester.

That was thanks to Tarbicus. They did get their wings clipped a few times last season but better times are ahead I hope!

A big thank you to all those who took part in this years event, especially in the face of the adverse weather.

Unfortunately due to the weather some of the planned events couldn't take place and the public were a bit thin on the ground, but overall a great success. Thank you RMRS (14th Legion), Leg VII CLAV, LEG VIII AVG MGV & Ya Raqs Dancers, not forgetting Jim 'The Potter' and Pax Romana.

Pleasure working with you all, as always. Big Grin

I also found a picture of a very shady looking character hanging around at Dean's Field  hehe.
