While I have encountered a couple of books that address Roman Army Field Logistics, none have really ever touched upon maintenance and reset of equipment after the battlefield.
By this I mean, how/who policed up the battlefield and began to start the who materiel reset process? Were thrown pila picked up, and rebent into serviceable shape. Was discarded equipment picked up and sent to the armory, etc...
Is there anything, in any language that addresses this topic?
