The Dura scutum is reported to have had a depth of about 23 or 24cm (~9") or so (arc 83cm, chord 66cm), however its state of damage leaves this a touch on the suppositional side. Every depiction of a semicircular scutum I've ever seen shows it to have been quite deep, so I don't have any trouble with this estimate myself.
