Where along the Rubicon Caesar crossed?
#1
Salve,

I have googled this one but I could not find an answer... does anyone know where along the Rubicon Caesar crossed?

I was planning a trip to Italy next year and I thought I might want to look into renting a horse and crossing over the Rubicon (presuming I was allowed) but I'd like to cross at or near where Caesar crossed.

Do historians know where along the river he crossed? Near what town or is there a straight line from Alesia where he fought Vercingetorix between Alesia and Rome?
Vale!

You might not need to cross water, as the area was hit by floods and the river changed course over the centuries, amongst other things.

If you use Google Earth you should enter Savignano sul Rubicone as the place name.
