Mt. Lykaion Day in Philadelphia this Saturday
#1
The project I work for is having a one day conference this Saturday, the 24th of February. It'll be at the University of Pennsylvania Museum of Archaeology and Anthropology, from 9 to 5.

The museum event site is here: http://www.museum.upenn.edu/new/events/ ... which=1149
and the project website is here: http://lykaionexcavation.org/

"The origins of Greek cult and Greek athletics may be found at the mountaintop sanctuary of Zeus on Mt. Lykaion in Arcadia, Greece. Famous in antiquity as the site of an open air ash altar to Zeus and athletic contests rivaling those at nearby Olympia, this sanctuary is undergoing new excavations and study. The international, interdisciplinary team of archaeologists and scholars engaged in the Mt. Lykaion Excavation and Survey Project come together to share their perspectives on the new season's discoveries."
