Roman Legionaries entering Rome - anecdote?
#1
I am wondering if anyone can help me track an anecdote down? I remember reading (Tacitus/Suetonius?) a description of legionaries entering Rome and how the civilians were shocked at how 'barbaric' they looked. I can't find the source now. Can anyone help? I am sure it is a well-referenced passage but for the life of me can't seem to locate it!
