Roman Water-Organ
#1
Ok, here it is:

The Organ form Aquincum as an reconstruction, built by Justus and Martin, members of MVSICA ROMANA.

We will enter the studio hopefully in April and doing a CD with music that has possibly been played in the Roman Arena and Amphitheatre.

Any suggestings from everybody is welcome!

We will also try to make it possible to buy it international.

At the moment we are giving concerts with organ in Germany, also with new reconstructions of a Roman harp and a kithara and completely new songs.

See therefore our homepage:
www.musica-romana.de (only in German at the moment, sorry folks)
under "Termine".

Any questions welcome... Big Grin

Cool! Confusedhock:
On available records of the Ancient World music organs were used rarely. I recall some and not the most impessive tracks on Paniuagua's CD and...? That's all? Sad
Ancient music and traditions of German organ music school - it should be very interesting. Possible record could be hit on this market.
I always tried to imagine the possibility of Emperor Nero International Organ Competition Big Grin (Nero was lover of organ music and organ player himself).
I suppose that it could be interesting to hear not only hydraulis-tibia music for Colloseum but probably some pieces of more meditative kind for Domus Aurea Big Grin

By the way, I think it could be funny and interesting to play on this instrument the music of Modern times, which tied with culture of Antiquity - as example - "Dorian fugue" by Bach etc. Big Grin
