Not at Archeon. LRE IV is planned for 2010, maybe at Archeon, or maybe in the UK.

It's been a real pleasure for us to attend Big Grin cry: At least, my spirit travelled for a short while through Archeon's sky during the prototype's plumbata only flight... Tongue

Oskar and Eluska were more than welcome, we were very glad that CIG finally managed to attend the event!

I liked your plumbata very much, but as I told your friends, it may be on the heavy side a bit (most plumbata are lighter than 150 grams). Also, do feathers behave differently than your thin wooden flights? Can you do a small presentation in the plumbata discussion?

The Ulfingers are back, normal life has me again in firm grip. Thank you very much for the invitation, Robert, it was a great event and very interesting to join the Roman side of life for some days. Greetings to everybody who was there, nice to meet you!

Looking forward to the next time!

Cheers,

I suspect that meeting Ulfwin and his Alamanni temporarily made Ivan's 5% or so Visigothic genes dominant...

Robert,

You're right, the plumbata was overweight , but I just finished a plumbata that our friend Emilio Guadalajara started at the Calagurris festival. We hadn't any information at hand there and he just showed us the simplest process to attach the lead weight and shape it, without regarding archaeologically attested sizes. We plan to order a batch from him (We supply the tips and half-finished shafts and he adds the weight) and maybe in a few months I'll be able to post something on the plumbata thread (hopefully  )

Aitor
It\'s all an accident, an accident of hands. Mine, others, all without mind, from one extreme to another, but neither works nor will ever.
