In 1960, the designer Robsjohn-Gibbings (1905-76), met Greek cabinetmakers Susan and Eleftherios Saridis, and together they created the Klismos line of furniture, which drew heavily on classical forms. It is still in production I am told. His book Robsjohn-Gibbings, Furniture of Classical Greece c.1963, 9x13, 124p, hardbound, black/white & color, Alfred A Knopf, NY is a delight to view. In 1961 the Robsjohn-Gibbings range was around $10,000 US off the factory floor and now his pieces command huge prices at auction.

Imagine my surprise when I saw this range by Neonakis ...perfect for a dine, wine and recline evening. Do any of our friends in Greece know what this sort of thing costs? Do others make this kind of product ..bettter still are their any good studies you can recommend on these furniture forms?

It has been a while since I have seen beautiful Greek inspired furniture. A simple
diphros designed by Robsjohn-Gibbings and made by Saridis in 1960 recently sold for US $11 000 at auction. Imagine my surprise when I stumbled upon this designer Mark Harman from the UK: Mark Harman.
