Quote:Here is the original topic post:
for those people on RAT who have served in the military or are currently serving, it might be interesting to compare equipment and uniforms.
include: nation(s)
dates of service
branch of service
description or photo of uniform/gear
and as many of the following as possible
-weapon(s)
-Rank
-critique on weapons and gear
-any other interesting information from your time in the service.
In response to Ralph's original post... I'll add my rather unique perspective:
nation(s): United States of America (and, by extension, her freedom-loving allies around the globe)
dates of service: 1983 to the present
branch of service: United States Air Force
description or photo of uniform/gear: The uniforms change too frequently to list... due, some say, to "compensation" afforded to decision-makers by uniform manufacturers...
weapon(s): Chaplains are non-combatants, so, by international law, I don't bear
any. In fact, in addition to never receiving any military weaponry training... I don't own any weapons personally either.
Rank: lieutenant colonel
critique on weapons and gear: I find historical weapons (especially ancient and American Civil War vintage) more interesting than the current arsenals of the world
any other interesting information from your time in the service: perhaps in the future...
