Roman/Germanic Limes equipment?
#1
The line of forts the Romans had built to connect the Danube and Rhine river. Did the soldiers there equip themselves with special gear not given to all soldiers such as greaves, a manica, etc....

The limes forts were garrisoned by different types of auxiliary troops: Alae, Exploratores, Numeri, Sagittarii, Cohortes Equitatae and everything else you can think of. So there's quite a variety of equipment in the area in general.

Another thing would be that equipment changes over time and there's very few archaeological evidence of military equipment from the 2nd century in general. Some of the late 2nd early 3rd century helmets however have been found in the area and named after the forts where they were found (Niederbieber, Heddernheim)

So the thing is it is quite difficult to give any specific info. Is there any type of troops you are especially interested in?
