Would be graetful for a nice pattern to print and make the cardboardmock out of.

I made the mockup cardboard version last night of the Seg. using the Pattern from http://www.larp.com/legioxx/lorica.html but I have some problems with it.

Firstly I had to make it aprox. 10% bigger overall to match my 193 cm and 100 kg body. But I the breastplates dont seem to work out propaly. They don´t connect as they should. Is this a problem anybody else have encountered or have I done something majorly wrong.

It's a bit complicated, some say, but try this:

Just make the plates bigger until they fit your body. The blow-up drawing from Robinson is really great, I don't have a link for it tough, maybe someone else? I have built two segs using those drawings and they have come out just perfect 8) .
Don't forget to twist the collar plates (lengthwise), otherwise the seg won't close properly.

Thanx, it´s just that they wont look exactly in the shape as the ones on Matts site. Well, I figure its my darn shoulders again, I´m cursed with broader bonestructure than the avarage roman probally Wink

And they shouldn't!

Nearly every segmentata plate of any particular type that's been found is slightly longer, wider, shorter, thicker, thinner than the others of that type.

There's no hard rule regarding dimensions.. think of the plate shapes as themes... Adjust their dimensions to fit your body.. Maintain a sense of proportionality

For example: on guys with long torsos I do not add a ninth torso plate .. I'll make eight torso plates slightly wider.
