RAT Conference Nijmegen 2007
#1
The Dutch contingent at the RAT Conference Augsburg 2006 has offered to organise the next edition of this event. It is initially proposed to hold from the 9th till the 11th of November 2007 in Nijmegen, the Netherlands.
The original date has been altered, due to a (small) exhibition on Roman cavalry helmets and face masks. See below.

This post will be kept updated with new information. If you are interested in lecturing or simply visiting, please sign in below.

Meeting location
(Provisionally) Het Kolpinghuis, Nijmegen

Lodging
Affordable city center hotels are:
- the Apollo Hotel ***, 65 euros/night single room, 85 for a double room (closest to Het Kolpinghuis)
- the Atlanta Hotel ***, 57.50 and 83,50 respectively
- the City Park Hotel *** from 48, 80 euros respectively.
Please take into account that these hotels are fairly small, so book on time!
Low budget options:
- Catharina Hotel **, from 36 euros, but slightly outside the city center
- Nijmegen has several b&b's, which are usually cheap and simple. They may be further outside the town center however.

Excursions
Museum het Valkhof: Great Roman equipment collection and with a temporary exhibition on Roman face masks
(Provisionally) Haltern am See
Greets!

I'll be there too.

Maybe I'll be able to do a lecture about how to make a scale modell of a Roman building, if some of the planned modells are ready by then.

Like I've said already in Augsburg (Augusta Vindelicum) I would love to come to Nijmegen (Noviomagus). So count me in.

And if you don't oppose I would hold again a lecture on some gladiatorial topic.

As member of the LXG I should attend also. Maybe even give a talk on some not well known roman army finds from Limburg
