They are in an event at Jerash in Jordan, look as arabs and seem quite well trained and equipped... Big Grin

Yes, if I recall well, they are real Jordan Army soldiers! Confusedhock:

It\'s all an accident, an accident of hands. Mine, others, all without mind, from one extreme to another, but neither works nor will ever.

That's quite impressive, but if they are real soldiers then one can understand why they're so good at getting all their fellows together. But real soldiers? :? Is this a hobby or actually what they do? Like some sort of "historical" drill unit (like the U.S. Army's Old Guard)?

The enemy is less likely to get wind of an advance of cavalry, if the orders for march were passed from mouth to mouth rather than announced by voice of herald, or public notice. Xenophon

Its a full Jordanian state sponsored tourist attraction. I believe the centurio is westerner with some reenacting background. The rest of the troop do this for a living. No wonder they act like a unit.

So this and the Keltic village in New Brunswick are among the two places a re-enactor can go and be a true paid professional? Would be blast to be able to that for a career, eh?

They do look good, nice to see that many marching so well, too bad in the fighting pics they are all fighting like single combat warriors and not soldiers with unit cohesion...keep those shields together MILITES, tighten the gaps and fight like a unit!

Testudo is very nice too.
