We were at MTHE (Marching Through History Exposition) near Los Angeles California, on Oct 21-22, 2006... took 2nd place for best Encampment pre 1600AD.. darn Scots beat us.... they do 1560AD.. there's thath year 60 again... only 1500 years later.. argh!!
Anyway, they stage a series of battles... American Revolution, War Between the States, WWI, WWII both Europe and Pacific. The Pacific theater battle reenactment is waged between a contingent of Japanese soldiers vs US army and Marines... a couple of tanks get involved, and they also have ground effect explosions.. well, this year they added something new... strafing WWII vintage fighter bombers.. two of them!... flying in at 100 feet.. maybe less... SPECTACULAR .. making several passes even dropping smoke a couple of times... needless to say we tried to sell off our Roman kit so we too could get an airplane, also decided to scrap our trireme project and convert it to an aircraft carrier project...
