Should you buy it, for a late roman soldier impression at US $120.00?
It's of galvanized steel, but the rings look too large (more than 10 mm...).

Are they >10mm?
To me they look smaller! I own a 8mm (outer diameter) hamata and must say the rings don't look that much smaller...
Offcourse 8mm is already kind of much for rings of a roman hamata...
Though if the rings prove to be aprx. 8mm I'lld most certainly buy it for 120$!

I don't understand how much the guy is big, so I cannot say if the rings are 8 or 10. Anyway even if they were 10, is it a deal or not?

It's a deal. What I did with a similar one was to take the hood, sell it to a medieval reenactor, etch the zinc off, and shorten the sleeves, using the sleeve pieces to re build into a doubler. Worked just fine. Saved a ton of ring bending.
Wouldn't stop a real arrow, though, being butted, but it works ok against needledfelt swords and spears. 8)

I had one of these and liked it fine. Yes,it's galvanized but you can fix that(or live with it)if it bothers you. My intention was to do as David said and
remove the sleeves,split them and make the doubler. If the coif comes with it all the better. You may want to do another period later. Size here hardly matters as these are very forgiving.
Short answer:go for it.

Yes, I think it's a good deal. You can even use the hood for a Dura Europos impression.
