Dextrus returns to Barcino
#1
Propugnatores Barcinonenses is pleased to show you some pictures inspired by Numius Emilianus Dextrus. Proconsul of Asia between 379 and 385, emperor Theodosius confidant and son of Barcelona's bishop Pacianus, returns to his native city after his father's death in 390. Together with his guards visit family domus and the theater, with a lot of youth memories for him.

You can see the photos in:

Good evening! Great photograph, thank you for sharing.

You may have noticed a thread which points out that many of the RAT Forum are not on Facebook. So if you would like to add a couple more photographs, please do so either here or under the "Show your Roman Impression " thread as it would be a shame for them to be missed.

I'm glad you like it
Sorry, I act this way for two reasons. First to save work because I have to put the same thing in several places and secondly because I thought it was abusive to put many photos on the RAT.
What is the limit of pictures in a thread?

No, we actually love to see pictures like these (especially as not everyone is on Facebook). I'm not sure how many images you can put in one post, but there is no limit to images in a thread.

Very nice choices of color. Well done!

The beige sagum with the round decorations, are those woven into the fabric? Wonderful stuff!

I wish to take for to say that we are treading real late roman mosaics and we can't understand this museologic treatment. Is perfect for us because we tread literaly the same mosaics that our ancestors but is realy hard for his conservation (I think).

Thank you for the clarification. From enlarging the picture my wife and I were sure it must have been one or the other. Clearly it was not a separate piece sewn on. Beautiful work, any way you look at it.

Inexplicably Dextrus has moved into the twenty-first century.Taking advantage of the circumstance has visited the archaeological museum of Barcelona and found the remains of his time, as circus mosaic so often trod.

The guy in the white tunic should have an improved belt, so the broad parts are overlapping or at least close together. Furthermore he is using the belt upside-down in some of the pics Wink

You're absolutely right, I'm well aware of that but Dextrus is an eccentric uncorrectable. Now seriously, Alfonso really has not yet an own belt. He wears a borrowed Deepeeka and comes to him small. He needs to do his own belt.
