Custom 12" Goth Warrior Enemy/Ally of Rome
#1
I decided to use a lowly barbarian for practice towards my future custom Romans!

GASP! I gave "Ermanarich", chainmail armor(almost finished you’ll notice an arm isn’t done yet), REAL boots (the dragon ones are hilarious), Replaced the elastic on the cloak with something more likely in 450 AD, (a simple fibula), fixed the shield handle, and gave him extremely light (pre battle) weathering!

Next part will be finish the armor, new shield, and post battle weathering.
Enjoy the picts!

OMG, did you make the chainmail from scratch? If so, brilliant work, your eyes must have bled
Hi Gordak,
I like him very, very much.

Judging from the timeframe, is this a Visigoth in Gaul, or an Ostrogoth on the Danube/Hun army?

A few questions, though. Why the wrapped feet as 'shoes'? This must have been a poor warrior, but on the other hand, he's rich enough to own armour. So why not the shoes?
I'm not sure about the fibula, which looks very 'Celtic' to me. But I'm not an expert so please correct me if I'm wrong.
Where did you find the example of the shield?
Valete,
You are totally Correct!!!
The original Doll comes with Really Fancy boots (modern sole, high heel), and NO armor! The main reason i changd the boots was he couldn't stand in them because they were totally inflexible.

(The sheild) This Comes with the figure, and apparantly from what you guys say, is pretty good, all I did to improve it was change the handel from verticle to horizontal, which im not even sure of how accurate it is, but it makes it a LOT easier for him to hold it!.

I admit I could find very little research materials, Aside from the fact that Goths looted and traded lots of their belongings wherever they went.
But since dragon made the figure, It was a platform I could experiment on.

The closest thing I could find to a costume guide was the Horrible "Atilla" movie by USA

Id love to get some recomendations or pictures of accurate goths!

And thanks for the praise and recomendations ALWAYS very helpful!!!
He will surely have to share the armor with some Auxilla on my Book shelf!
Again I would really appreciate suggestions from anyone who has some knowlege on the Goths!
