Why would it have been withdrawn? It's a great book, based on Dark's thesis. But he wrote it 10 years ago.. maybe Leicester Uni just never printed that many of them?
He published another book that can be seen as a re-write as well as a sequel: Britain and the End of the Roman Empire (Tempus, 2000). maybe that's why 'Civitas' is out of print?

Read Chris Snyder's book? Or my interview with Ken Dark?

Hi Robert

It does look a great book and I will place a "wants" on abebooks or get it from the county library. I have trawled the web & could not find a single one available.

I have read Chris Snyder's book "An Age Of Tyrants" and I have the Ken Dark book "Britain and the End of the Roman Empire" on my shelf awaiting my attention ... I'm halfway through The Reign of Arthur by Christopher Gidlow at the moment Smile
