The sad thing is that the profit is so gigantic (something like over four times the profit margin of a drug dealer and probably a thousand times less risk?) it would be very worthwhile for the criminals to spend even more on a more accurate repro. I do feel very sorry for the buyer, regardless of whether they should have known better or not.
