Deepeeka Pompeii Gladius
#1
I've just received one today from a subsidiary company. Please tell me that I'm wrong but do they make them with plastic grips?

I've paid $300AUS for it and I'd like it to be as realistic as possible, not to mention not being able to use it as a re-enactor.

Their grips sometimes look like plastic but I'm pretty sure real deepeeka gladii are only made with bone handles. Perhaps there is some kind of film over it. You can remove this with fine sanding paper and steel wool.

There is also a very bone-like material called "Micarta", which is often used as a substance of bone/horn....

If you disassemble it you'll See that is made of bone.
