NixImperial\'s gladiatorial Hawkedon helmet
#1
Hi all,

I stumbled about the following helmet from NixImperial that is called replica from the Hawkedon gladiator helmet:

AFAIK, the original Hawkedon helmet was only an Infantry-helmet-like bowl that was reconstructed to this Provocator type helmet:

For me it looks a little like fantasy, the decoration of a kind never seen before and an untypical crest like from a Spanish late-medieval Morion helmet. The whole helmet reminds more to a Hellenistic Thracian helmet. So my question is: does anybody here on this forum about the reference of the above NixImperial Hawkedon gladiator helmet?

Some kind of screwup here. I got my Fletcher Hawkedon helm from Nix and it's the one in the Ludus review. The helmet pictured is, I think, a Deepeeka Hellenistic model. Somebody put the wrong picture on the wrong page.

Hey: is the Nix Hawkedon provocator helmet usable in combat? He advertises it as being cast. Curious, 'cause I want a good provocator helmet for my group.

Lot's of the stuff that Terry Nix says are 'cast' are a cold cast metal resin, and not suitable for simulated combat, however, he has always been good about answering my queries, so you might just email him and explain how you want to use it, and see if it is suitable.
