New goodies from the Roman Museum Augsburg

Two sleeves of Roman chainmail, 3rd century.
The sleeves were 3/4 length. Pic of one of them:

Parts from the City wall´s parapet. The battlements were obviously
L-shaped to offer more protection.

3rd century chapes, a knob for a ring belt-buckle, a cavalry-spatha blade (no pic, looks boring, but visible in pic 1 as brown stripe in front of the objects, fromleft to right...) and a breast-plate fragment:

It's not too bad Matt. Luckily there's Romanarmy.com to collect as many photos of all those nice things in European museums together. Big Grin

I think the walls at Chester, DEVA, had the same parapet design in the third century rebuild of the fortress walls.

Oh I'm very thankful that I can see these things thanks to you guys and the Internet at large- I'd just love to be able to go to a museum and see them myself

Those look cool, I was in Ausburg in July with a friend but we went on a monday so everything was closed, wonderful city though. My faviorte thing about the city was Käse Spätzle they had in the restraunt in the Fugrei the food portion was huge buy European standanders and cheap too.
