which equipment is good for the time of the marcommanic wars? spatha or gladius? which helmet?

Spatha was beginning to replace the pompeii style gladius by this time among the infantry also. On the other hand I don`t think it would be totally wrong to have pompeii style gladiuses still in use by some individuals. The so called ring pommel swords would be quite common during this period, if I remember correctly. They had danubian origins, possibly sarmatian influence.

Auxiliary E and Niedermörmter (-bieber?) style helmets were used by infantry, although auxiliary E has earlier been interpreted being mostly a cavalry helmet (the "melee explanation"). Perhaps some gallic models were also used...
