John,

I found a nice pair of late-Roman greaves at The Mercenary's
Taylor in the U.S. Go to:

http://www.merctailor.com/catalog/index.php

Then click on the 'Legs' section at top left. They're labelled
as the Roman Greaves about two thirds down the page.
Unlike the rounded ones in the photo, I was actually pleasantly
surprised that, when mine arrived, they looked almost exactly
like the first photo in the link sent to you by Valerius/Robert. 8)

No problemo, Jim. I didn't realise you were also
interested in the 'late' stuff. 8)

Well, I'm still putting my Rhineland and Dacian Wars legionaries together, but after that I'm not sure. I am tempted to go Republican, though.

Regardless, those greaves are excellent, especially at that price.

Sure. I have the same tendency, myself (politically
speaking, that is - if in a more Democratic sort of way...) 8)

Yep, I can vouch for the quality of the metal, and the shin-padding they
include with it. It's nice to have six attachment rings, as well. And they
were very nice about the shipping cost to the UK, too, letting me have
it free of charge on the packing, as they said they knew the shipping
was ~$30 and they hated to see their international customers get
ripped-off! There. Now wasn't that a nice thing to say? Big Grin And they
go straight to the top of my list of 'Suppliers To Recommend Doing Business With'. 8)
