african forest elephants still live in the Congo. I know, I like animals, and elephants interest me a lot.
some pics of modern day living forest elephants, of the Congo:

good luck, elephants have been known to suddenly freak out and go on a rampage trampeling and crushing anyone in range

not if it was snowy, look at Hannibal's elephants, they all died of sickness after crossing the freezing Italian alps

The Forest elephant is the Loxodanta Africana Cyclotis, which still exists and lives in central Africa; the North-African elephant is called Loxodanta Atlantica.

According to Serge Lancel's Hannibal (1995), this was the type of elephant that Hannibal wanted to use, but only one of them was still alive when he captured Capua.

Still, it made a great impression, and the Romans were to hunt down these elephants, which were killed in the amphitheaters. The species is now extinct.

the Congo forest elephants in Africa aren't extinct (if that's the type of elephants you were referring to)

Then I have not explained myself correctly. I meant the North-African elephant, Loxodanta Atlantica. The pictures you showed indeed prove that the Forest elephant is very much alive.
