Country and State flags

The tongue-in-cheek micronation of Hay-on-Wye and its "king" (who wields an old toilet-plunger in place of a sceptre) is today known chiefly for selling novelty low-cost "peerages" to bemused tourists.

Not being a true football fan (although I did enjoy the world cup) I need to ask... which team is historically the worst (i.e. has the most difficult struggles each year, without being sent down to a lower league)? That's the team I'll choose to root for. I have a soft spot in my compassionate heart for the "underdog." Smile

Reading this thread is quite delightful. By the way--without digressing into matters of contemporary religious belief which caused some confusion on another thread recently--there are probably a number of us who feel the same way. I recall a song I loved back in the early 70s where the artist (Larry Norman) discussed all the odd things going on in the world around him/us. He expressed his inability to explain why they occur with the words, "don't ask me, I'm only visiting this planet". Well, however we feel about that notion, it's incumbent upon us to be good citizens of this world in which we live. I'm finding the international scope of our RAT community quite invigorating. Thank you all!

Quote:I wonder who besides Magnus can identify my second flag (without cheating by mousing over it, anyway!) It's not in my country, but that's where my heart is.
It truly is beautiful... but we've got much of the same natural (awesome) loveliness in Washington State too! Smile

Ah, then you know where I mean, Robert... BC is where my heart is, because my sweetie lives there... Smile

I'm hoping that I can be stationed at Ft Lewis in the next 2-3 years.

Yes, this is indeed one of the better hang-outs.

this is a really neat feature, I've been one many forums, but none that had this flag option, I actually forgot what my state flag looked like for a while until I saw it on this site XD lol, but yeah the flags are a great idea, and very unique

Thought I'd have a play too, but there are no flags for Cheshire (where I was born), Lancashire (where I live) or Liverpool (where I work/am now).
Had to go for the general UK one.
