Andy,
Nice lid indeed!
On the chlamys, I agree with Gianni. Not only do you need more fabric, and weights, but you should also lay in three knife pleatsat the top edge which you then pin together. The net result is that the weighted point of the open side should hang to the knee.
I've got a good pic somewhere, I'll dig it up.

Thanks for the advice,
I have now seen a few images and do agree, and to think that I cut this piece of wool to make it shorter!!! Buggar!
Any pictures of the weights? Are they bronze, lead, sewn to it like a button or in the hem of the wool?
Many thanks

So there should be small weights attatched to the bottom corners of the cloak, or would it be all four corners? What was the pourpose of these?

One in each of the four corners.
The cloak was meant to cover you against cold weather and due to its open nature and light weight, the weights kept the cloth down. Additionally,it helped it drape in a a nice way creating neat folds as the weight pulled the cloth downwards.
I have found that they also help drape it in some other ways, like wrap your right wrist with one of the corners etc, like seen in some sculptures.
They weight don't need to be very heavy or big. They can be hitting your calfs as you walk or run and this can be annoying or painful.

Is there any chance you could post a close up picture of your set?

Unfortunately not,i don't have it near me at this period. But you've seen the photo i posted in the link above, right? Fishing weights have their own loops, either wire or cast in shape,so you just have to sew them on the fabric.

Great impressions everyone! I especially like that Thracian/Phrygian (bearded face) helmet that Nearco posted awhile back. I've always loved that helmet design, but this looks like an especially nice reproduction, feathers & all!! That is officially my favorite helmet now 8)

I'd suggest this thread for chitons. They have been discussed very extensively there

Also,i'd suggest replacing your spear shaft for something considerably thinner. An inch thick would be ok. Ash or dogwood is preferable.
And a smaller and leaf shaped spearhead.
I stongly advise reading through the "begginers section",where you'll find all sorts of interesting information
