I wanna know what people think of the ornamented pieces on this sword. Do they look alright too you all. I was wondering if you think they could be used on a custom made scabbard for a albion next generation gladius or spathae.

Just want opinions!

Martin the last one of these swords I handled was utter junk. The metal is some form of cheap potmetal. I wouldnt even consider buying one to use for another project.

The "ornamented pieces" are made of cheap pot metal (cast zinc, I believe), as is the rest of the sword.

There is nothing nice I can say about this sword or the scabbard.

Thanx all.

I did get it to the very humble price of 10 euro Wink after I used your oppinions as a bargin argument.

As you said the fittings are crap, the scabbard is plastic.

What was a supprise to me is that the blade is ugly but has decent shape and balance, for the price, and will be refitted with homemade wooden parts and will be used for drills and light sparring. Nice to get a training piece for that amount of money.

Thank you all again.

Isn't that what the Romans used? Smile

For the price and your planned use, I suppose you got a bargain. It's great that everyone's advice helped you secure a "fair" price.
